Most economies have shrunk drastically with the world bank forecasting a 5.2% shrink this year for the global economy. Many are likely to feel the economic impacts of the virus, for years to come. However as bad as this year has been externally, here at Premier Jobs UK we have managed to mitigate the risks. Actually reversing the circumstance to actually grow during the pandemic. Our services to clients and candidates are unchanged. We continued working during the national lockdown to assist our candidates and clients throughout the troubling times. Our unwavering commitment enabled us to develop deeper and stronger relationships with existing clients by supporting them during tough times. In addition, new clients approached us, as we were actively viewed as the go-to Specialist Financial Services Recruiter. This was consolidated by the fact that, our business is 27% up year-on-year on placements to the end of September, which is a fantastic achievement considering the external influencing factors.
“Three more team members joined us during the summer of 2020”
Three more team members joined us during the summer of 2020; Jasmin Rice, Taylor Maddock and Steve Higson; starting in June, July and August, respectively. Plus, we were able to promote Lauren Wells from Recruitment Administrator to Recruitment Consultant.
Jasmin joined upon the completion of her GCSE exams in Year 11. She wanted an early career start, undertaking a Recruitment Resourcer apprenticeship with the view to become a Recruitment Consultant in the upcoming years. Taylor joined as a Marketing Executive after completing his A-Levels in Year 13 and will begin his Digital Marketing degree apprenticeship at the University of Gloucestershire in November 2020. Steve joined us after spending many years within the Senior Management of leading, national IFA firms and wanted a change this year, to a challenging and rewarding role. Also, upon completion of her Level 3 qualification in Recruitment, Lauren Wells was promoted to Recruitment Consultant, as a result of her continued high levels of service to candidates and clients.

From mid-March we made the decision for all team members to work from home. As some individuals had not experienced home based working before, we implemented daily conference calls. Focusing on maintaining our social interactions; it was rare a call did not include laughter as we shared work and personal stories to keep team spirits high. These ran alongside weekly conference calls to ensure all team members across the UK and our office in Spain were aware of current business activities.
These calls were hugely helpful to our team, as they allowed us to maintain a great team dynamic between our Regional Recruitment Consultants and our Head Office team. We invested in the installation of desk dividers and other measures in making our office Covid secure so that our head office team could return to working together as soon as practical and in line with government guidelines. We have continued our weekly conference calls with our remote Consultants since our return to the office in June and have implemented further safety precautions to ensure that our team are still able to work from the office for the foreseeable future.
